Whittlesey CEO Drew Andrews Honored as 2024 C-Suite Award Recipient by Hartford Business Journal

Whittlesey is proud to announce that Drew Andrews, CPA, the firm's Managing Partner and CEO, has been named a 2024 C-Suite Honoree by the Hartford Business Journal. This prestigious award recognizes Andrews’ exceptional leadership, dedication to the accounting profession, and his philanthropic contributions to the community.

Drew has been a driving force in public accounting, combining his expertise with a passion for innovation and community service. Since becoming Managing Partner and CEO of Whittlesey in 2008, he has spearheaded the firm’s strategic direction, with a particular focus on embracing AI and automation to meet clients’ evolving needs while maintaining operational excellence.

Under Andrews’ leadership, Whittlesey has grown from a local firm with a single office to Connecticut’s largest independent CPA firm. The firm has expanded from one to three offices across two states, integrated four firms into its culture, and increased its revenue more than fourfold. This growth positioned Whittlesey among the Top 10 Firms in New England.

In the past year, Andrews has led Whittlesey to national recognition for its financial and operational excellence. For the third consecutive year, it has been named one of Inside Public Accounting’s Best of the Best Firms, a distinction that highlights the firm’s commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and client service. Whittlesey remains the only firm based in Connecticut and western Massachusetts to earn this honor.

Andrews’ influence extends beyond the firm; he is deeply involved in community service, aligning with Whittlesey’s core values of giving back to the communities where its employees live and work. Whittlesey serves over 400 nonprofits, sponsors more than 100 events annually, and actively participates in numerous community initiatives. Personally, Andrews has served on various boards for nonprofit and professional organizations and is actively involved with the Connecticut Society of CPAs and the Connecticut Business & Industry Association. He has also supported youth sports, coached local teams, and served as president of his church’s parish council for seven years.

Reflecting on his guiding business principles, Andrews states, “Do the right thing, and good things will happen. This philosophy guides my approach to clients, our team, and our community.”

Andrews resides in Avon and Old Saybrook, Connecticut. In his personal time, he enjoys attending UConn basketball and football games, reading, and spending time with his family. His current read, “Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance” by Angela Duckworth, aligns with his belief in continuous learning and embracing change to stay competitive.

Whittlesey congratulates Drew on this well-deserved recognition from the Hartford Business Journal and remains committed to fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and community service under his leadership.
