Whittlesey CEO Drew Andrews Named to 2025 Power 50 List by Hartford Business Journal

A driving force behind Whittlesey’s transformation into Connecticut’s largest independent CPA firm, Andrews has led the firm with strategic vision and an unwavering commitment to growth, innovation, and community. Since taking the helm in 2008, he has guided the firm through an era of remarkable expansion—growing revenue more than fourfold, expanding from a single-office operation to three offices across two states, and successfully integrating four firms through acquisition.

Andrews is well-known in Hartford’s business community for his professional achievements and steadfast support of the city. In 2013, he spearheaded Whittlesey’s relocation to downtown Hartford, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to the region’s economic development.

Over the past year, Andrews has continued to push Whittlesey forward by embracing the future of the profession through the adoption of automation and artificial intelligence. “We have to automate processes and stay ahead of technological advancements,” Andrews told the Hartford Business Journal last September. “I’m not just looking at what’s coming down the line next year, I’m looking at 10 years down the road. The firms that don’t modernize will become obsolete.”

Beyond his role at Whittlesey, he is an active philanthropist and has held leadership positions with several local nonprofit organizations.
