Kimberly Napp, CPA and Partner-in-Charge of Assurance Services at Whittlesey has been honored with the prestigious Excellence in Business Award by the Greater New Haven and Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce

HARTFORD, Connecticut – November 6, 2024

Whittlesey is proud to announce that Kimberly Napp, CPA, Partner-in-Charge of Assurance Services, has been honored with the prestigious Excellence in Business Award from the Greater New Haven and Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce. This recognition is part of the annual Women's Achievement Awards, which celebrate individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, actively engage in business and community organizations, and deliver significant results.

Kim, the first woman to lead Whittlesey’s Assurance Department, oversees the Firm’s largest division, managing the audit team and designing organizational structures to support the Firm’s strategic goals. Her responsibilities include overseeing team management, technical training, quality control, regulatory compliance, client relationships, risk assessment, and financial management. In addition to her leadership role, she continues to serve her clients, focusing on nonprofit organizations and credit unions and advising on financial reporting, audit, and operational strategies.

Kim’s commitment to nonprofits is evident through her specialized work helping organizations find new funding sources, navigate increased regulations, and improve operational efficiency. She is a trusted advisor to many Connecticut nonprofits, providing guidance beyond traditional audit services and supporting their missions, which impact thousands of lives across the state.

A trailblazer for women in accounting, Kim co-founded and co-chairs the Women of Whittlesey (WoW) leadership group, which addresses challenges women face in public accounting and fosters mentorship across the Firm. She is also a dedicated mentor to the next generation of professionals, helping younger staff, particularly women, advance their careers in the Firm.

Kim’s dedication to her profession and the community has earned her numerous accolades throughout her career, including recognition as one of the Hartford Business Journal’s Forty Under 40, a Women in Business Honoree, and recipient of the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA) Women’s Distinguished Service Award. She serves on the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Resource Council and the Bushnell Board of Ambassadors. She also leads Whittlesey’s efforts in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk, a cause close to her heart as a 19-year cancer survivor.

Kim will be honored at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Connecticut, as part of the Greater New Haven and Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce’s Women's Achievement Awards.
