The Hartford Business Journal has recognized Whittlesey Tax Manager Melissa Braun as a “40 Under Forty” awardee for 2023. The award honors extraordinary young professionals in the Greater Hartford area who have made significant strides in their respective industries.
Melissa has over 10 years of service with the Firm and specializes in tax and advisory services across various industries, including commercial, residential, and affordable housing real estate entities; financial institutions; construction, manufacturing, and closely-held businesses; and high-net-worth individuals. As a co-founder of the real estate thought leadership niche and a pivotal member of Whittlesey’s real estate group, she has been instrumental in shaping the Firm’s trajectory.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Melissa has made considerable contributions to the broader community. She is a dedicated mentor to junior staff, an active member of the CREW Network, and a former Executive Committee Member of Community Accounting Services (CAS). Her previous recognition as one of the Connecticut Society of CPA’s (CTCPA) “Women to Watch” underscores her influential presence in her field.
